This week, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R) signed legislation aimed at ending state dealings with banking institutions that discriminate against gun manufacturers and other gun-related businesses.
The Firearm Industry Nondiscrimination (FIND) Act is the relevant legislation.
Landry received appreciation for signing the FIND Act from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).
Gov. Landry’s efforts to defend gun manufacturers and other members of the gun industry, according to NSSF’s Darren LaSorte, are an extension of his efforts as Attorney General, when he battled valiantly to preserve the Second Amendment.
“Governor Landry’s leadership in the state of Louisiana was the real inspiration behind the FIND Act,” stated LaSorte. He assisted in denying hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer money to “woke” banks that were refusing to supply our business with critical financial services while he was Attorney General and on the State Bond Commission.
“The Louisiana legislature greenlit the FIND Act back in 2021, but then-Governor Edwards vetoed it,” he continued. Governor Landry’s signature on a law today shows that elections have actual ramifications. Governor Landry is informing the firearms industry that Louisiana is now a welcoming state by signing the FIND Act.
In a comparable manner. Former Governor Bel Edwards enacted a constitutional carry bill but vetoed it. However, upon taking office, Landry pledged to uphold the Second Amendment, and on March 5, 2024, he signed the constitutional amendment into law.
