An uncovered 2019 video shows Vice President Kamala Harris endorsing “some type of reparations” for “black people.”

A Pew Research study from 2022 revealed that 68% of Americans were against reparations.

In response to the question of whether “black people should get reparations,” Harris told The Root, “I think there has to be some type of reparation, and we can explore what that is.”

The New York Times assigned Harris the lowest electability rating out of 10 potential Democratic contenders based on GovTrack’s scorecard, which placed Harris as the most liberal senator in 2019—far left of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Harris’s radical background consists of:

  • cosponsored measure to prevent the deportation of undocumented immigrants
  • supported the Medicare for All bill that was proposed by Bernie Sanders.
  • supported outlawing individual health insurance.
  • supported providing undocumented immigrants with taxpayer-funded insurance
  • backed the outlawing of fracking
  • backed cutting off police funds
  • Likened the KKK to ICE
  • wished for a plastic straw ban
  • argued for prohibiting offshore drilling
  • sought to “reverse” the border security policies of the Trump administration, reversing almost all of the policies implemented by the Trump administration with 94 executive measures in the first 100 days.
  • backed the decriminalization of unauthorized border crossings
  • vowed not to “treat” undocumented immigrants like “criminals.”
  • demanded “[ICE] starting from scratch.”
  • claimed that the temporary border closure was illegal under federal law.
  • raised funds for the far-left Minnesota Freedom Fund, which provides financial support to free violent offenders from prison, including rape and murder suspects.
  • backed Los Angeles’ decision to reduce its police force
  • referred to street police recruitment as “wrongheaded thinking.”
  • supported the administration’s “Bidenomics” policy despite the sharp increase in prices for American families.

It seems like Harris is reversing some of her extreme stances.

The New York Times revealed on Monday that Harris has changed his stance on a number of issues, including (1) fracking support, (2) border funding increases, (3) refusing to force people to return their assault weapons to the government, and (4) his opposition to “a single-payer health insurance program.” The report cited anonymous campaign officials for its reporting.

It is unclear what Harris’s actual opinions are because neither she nor her campaign staff have publicly said on the record that they completely support the revised policy stances.
