Bank of America told CBS News that some customers were having issues “accessing their accounts and balance information.”
According to the news source, the bank said in a statement that “some clients” were having trouble because of a bug that kept them from accessing “their accounts and sum information.”
Bank of America said, “Some clients are having trouble getting their accounts and balance details today. These problems are being worked on and are mostly fixed. We’re sorry for the trouble this causes.”
A lot of people used social media to talk about how the Bank of America problem was hurting their bank funds.
“This claimed cyberattack took out both of my personal and business Bank of America accounts, wiping them of all funds,” wrote Gateway Pundit reporter Elijah Schaffer in a post.
One person wrote on X, “Bank of America having a glitch and my account being at $0 gave me a heart attack.”
Someone else wrote, “That Bank of America glitch… yup. Having an effect on my account.”
Someone else wrote that their Bank of America app wouldn’t let them log in because it was “down and shows $0 amounts.”
The person also said, “Can’t call customer service either; they just hang up and say they can’t take calls right now. Were they hacked?”
Around 12:39 p.m., DownDetector saw more than 1,000 reports of problems with Bank of America.
There were more than 17,000 reports of bank problems by 1:09 p.m.
DownDetector says that as of 5:54 p.m., there have been more than 2,000 reports of problems with Bank of America.
