Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, seems to have been caught lying about whether or not FEMA resources were used to help migrants while Americans who were hit by Hurricane Helene try to get back on their feet.
Fox News reported that Jean-Pierre rejected the idea that the agency’s resources would be used to help migrants.
When a reporter said, “Former President Trump says the Biden administration is using FEMA money to help people who are in the country illegally, What does the White House say?”
“It’s just absolutely false,” Jean-Pierre replied. “What you said is not true; it is not true. The Washington Post’s fact-checker recently wrote an article with the headline, “No, Biden did not take FEMA aid money to use on refugees, but Trump did.” That’s it for now.”
But at a news meeting on September 16, 2022, Jean-Pierre was asked if the White House planned to pay back towns that had migrants bused to them.
“FEMA regional administrators have been meeting with city officials on the ground to organize the government help that FEMA and other federal agencies can provide,” she responded.
“FEMA’s emergency food and housing program also gives money to suitable local governments and non-profits that ask for it to help migrants with humanitarian aid,” she said.

Some people are upset about how the Biden-Harris administration is using FEMA funds at the same time that people in North Carolina are trying to rebuild their lives after Hurricane Helene’s record flooding destroyed roads, houses, and killed many.
The Fox story said that Vice President Kamala Harris announced a $100 million plan to help the state. “Critics, on the other hand, said the plan was not nearly as big as the $157 million in foreign aid Harris had announced the same day for Lebanon.”
The Department of Homeland Security’s Alejandro Mayorkas told Breitbart News on Thursday that FEMA did not have enough money to get through the rest of storm season, which ends on November 30.
The report also said, “yet $640 million has been given to DHS, especially for problems with illegal aliens.”
