The United States has sent an additional $425 million in military help to Ukraine. This comes after President Joe Biden met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday.

A statement from the Department of Defense said, “This announcement marks the 67th shipment of equipment from the Biden Administration’s stockpiles to Ukraine since August 2021.”

There was a press statement saying that the military aid package includes armored vehicles, air-to-ground weapons, and other weapons that were not named to the press.

According to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, “the US is committed to giving Ukraine the tools it needs to improve its situation on the battlefield, protect its people and land from the brutal aggression of the Kremlin, and achieve a fair and lasting peace. It is clear from what President Biden said, that the US and the foreign coalition we have put together will continue to stand with Ukraine.”

The war has been going on since February 2022, and the U.S. and the European Union (EU) have sent a lot of money and help to Ukraine.

The United States has given Ukraine the most committed backing of any country. U.S. News & World Reports reported in February that the U.S. is followed by Germany and the UK as the country with the most overall promises.

After his trip to several western countries, Zelenskyy sent this latest help package. During his trip, Zelenskyy talked about his “plan for victory” against Russia. He said that the war could still be won through foreign partnerships “no later than next year,” and he asked for more military help and sharing of intelligence.

A mobilization law was also just passed in Ukraine. Its goal is to make the hiring process more “efficient and transparent.”

Rustem Umerov, the defense minister of Ukraine, said that the large number of new troops shows that Ukrainians are ready to “defend their land with weapons in their hands.”

“We have enough soldiers.” He went on, “But we need help from our international partners in the form of weapons and equipment, and we need it quickly.”
