Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of the X, said on Saturday that his pro-Trump Super PAC, the America PAC, would give away $1 million “randomly” to people who sign his pledge in support of the First and Second Amendments.
Musk said that his Super PAC had been trying to get people to know about his petition at a town hall meeting in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Musk said, “Not everyone’s on X,” and “This would really fly.”
Musk finally gave a man at the event a $1 million check and said, “The only thing we ask for the million dollars is that you now be a spokesperson for the petition.”
Musk told the crowd, “I have a surprise for you: every day until the election, we’re going to give $1 million to a random person who signed the petition.”
We’re having trouble with things like, ‘How do we get people to know about this petition?’ Musk said that traditional news outlets won’t cover it. “Some people aren’t on X. How do we get people to know about it? I think this news is going to go really viral.”
In Musk’s petition in support of free speech and the right to own guns, it says that the goal is to “get 1 million registered voters in swing states to sign.” It also says that people who get other people to sign the petition will get $47.
“The First and Second Amendments protect the right to speak freely and keep and bear guns. Please sign below to show your support for the 1st and 2nd Amendments. You will get $47 for every registered voter you send who signs this petition as a thank you for your help. Our goal is for 1 million people who are registered to vote in swing states to sign a petition supporting the Constitution. They should support the right to free speech and the right to keep and bear guns. People who are registered to vote in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina are the only ones who can participate in this program. Ends on October 21.”
“So, starting tonight, we’ll be giving away $1 million every day until the election,” Musk said, adding that the only requirement was that the winner “spread awareness for the petition.”
