President Joe Biden’s government is raising the cost of air conditioning through new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines that raise the cost of refrigerants as Americans prepare for the summer months.

According to reports, the EPA is “limiting” the supply of refrigerants, raising their prices, after declaring them a contribution to what the left has politically labeled as “climate change.”

“Depending on how much replacement refrigerant is required, a recharge may cost $100 to $500 more than it would prior to the implementation of these restrictions,” according to Fox News. “Production quotas have increased the price of these products by nearly three times.”

In other words, consumers in need of air conditioner maintenance may have to spend significantly more since EPA restrictions have increased the cost of the real products. It might also be passed on to consumers in other ways, since the EPA rule also targets air conditioner service technicians, forcing them to carry the chemical in “heavy refillable cylinders,” according to the article.

Furthermore, the EPA is proposing a regulation that would basically phase out less expensive air conditioner models, deeming them unfriendly to the environment.

More from Fox News:

“Central air conditioners have already been impacted, while a proposed new law for window air conditioners is in its earliest stages, and in both cases, the agency’s rationale is heavily based on the claimed climate change benefits. Installers claim the new rule increased the cost of central systems by up to $1,000 when it went into force last January 1, and an overall cost of $10,000 is no longer unusual.”

Biden has already declared “climate change” — otherwise defined as the natural changes of the globe throughout history, including prior to the industrial period — a “clear and present danger,” utilizing the catastrophe to promote left-wing agenda items like its Green New Deal plans.

“I came here today to deliver a message: As President, I am entrusted with a responsibility to take action with urgency and determination when our country faces a clear and present danger,” Biden stated in a speech on July 20, 2022, admitting he saw “climate change” as an imminent danger.

“That is what climate change is all about. It is a clear and present danger, not a metaphor,” Biden said.

Biden was chastised after Biden Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka, Jr. disclosed that the government was considering outlawing gas stoves in the name of combating climate change.

“This is a hidden hazard,” Trumka explained in January. “Everything is on the table. Products that cannot be rendered safe may be prohibited.”

“However, as we’ve seen in so many other cases, Republicans were correct all along. In reality, President Joe Biden’s Department of Energy is pushing for draconian regulations that would completely abolish practically all gas burners.”
