Former President Trump, who is currently leading the Republican presidential primary, has promised to get rid of President Biden’s rules on electric vehicles (EVs). He has also warned American car workers that their jobs will be obsolete in two years if Democrats get their way.

About 34,000 autoworkers nationwide are striking against Ford, General Motors (GM), and Stellantis in an effort to negotiate a new contract that would guarantee their jobs won’t be eliminated due to Biden’s EV mandates and increase wages so they can keep up with the historically high rate of inflation, as Breitbart News has reported.

Trump told members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) during a video message that he would get rid of Biden’s EV rules, which he says will put their jobs at risk within two years.

“I will get rid of Joe Biden’s rule that all new cars must be electric, and I will do everything I can to get the price of a new car cut by a huge amount. I will cut prices a lot so you can live the way you and your family deserve,” Trump said.

“They’re going to ruin your business whether you’re a United Auto Workers member or any other kind of auto worker regardless of the state. You’re not likely to be employed within two years. I am going to make jobs available again. It is my plan to bring back the making of cars in our country. Every single year, millions and millions of cars get brought into the U.S. We are going to start building our own cars again, just like we did many years ago.”

“Tell the leader of your union not to back the Democrats because they will put your company out of business. You will no longer have a job. You will not have a job in two years, no matter how much you make per hour. I am going to succeed in making you rich. I’ll find you a job. You’ll have a great time and earn a lot of money. We are going to bring American cars back to life.”

Trump also said that Biden’s EV rules were making cars more expensive for hardworking and middle-class Americans alike.

Trump said, “Car prices have gone up almost 30% since I left office. The average new car now costs $50,000 or more, which is crazy. The average monthly automobile payment is currently close to $700. Because it truly is, it’s a war on American cars, American families, and the American dream.”
