Americans would lose over $300 million a year as a result of President Joe Biden’s decision to allow illegal aliens with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to participate in Obamacare.

Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published a final regulation on Friday allowing DACA undocumented immigrants to use Obamacare.

Through an executive order, Obama established the DACA program in the beginning, protecting over a million undocumented immigrants from deportation over time.

Federal officials predict that 100,000 DACA-eligible illegal immigrants will sign up for Obamacare, which will cost US taxpayers around $300 million annually.

Federal authorities say:

“By making changes to the definition of “lawfully present” for the purposes of the Exchanges, more people will be able to enroll and get subsidies. This will lead to the Federal Government giving people more premium tax credits, which will cost them an extra $240 million in 2025, $300 million in 2026, $290 million in 2027, and $300 million in 2028.”

In April 2023, Biden first unveiled his plan to use Obamacare to grant tax advantages to DACA-eligible illegal immigrants.

Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), commended the choice at the time. Moreover, Mayorkas proposed that the action serve as a springboard for granting DACA illegal aliens amnesty.

DACA recipients are “fellow Americans,” according to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, who also described the program’s beneficiaries as “those who have fought hard to live the American Dream.”
