People have called retired Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman “a good little commie” because he railed against Elon Musk and “free speech absolutists, weirdos.”

As more proof of X’s unmatched status as the town square, the Democratic Party shill, who is best known for speaking against President Trump during his impeachment trial, used the platform to attack it and its owner.

“After Telegram CEO Pavel Durov was arrested,” Vindman wrote, “Musk should be worried.”

“Durov is jailed for breaking French law, but he is a French person. This has wider effects on other social networks, like Twitter. There’s a growing intolerance for spreading false information and bad influence, as well as a growing desire for responsibility,” he wrote while sharing a thread that said Durov had been working with the Kremlin. “Musk should be scared.”

As expected, the 39-year-old millionaire was arrested as soon as he arrived in France. Police said that the encryption features of the Telegram chat app made it involved in crimes like drug dealing, conspiracy, and pedophilia.

In response to a comparison between Musk, Durov, and Mark Zuckerberg, who owns Meta, Musk said, “Already caved to filtering pressure. There is a huge problem with child abuse on Instagram, but Zuck hasn’t been arrested because he limits free speech and lets states get to user data through back doors.”

Soon after Vindman, he also wrote, “It is important for free speech that you forward X posts to people you know, especially in countries with a lot of control.”

Still, the retired lieutenant colonel doubled down on Sunday, making fun of people who support the First Amendment while using it to make serious charges against Trump. He did this either without knowing or in spite of the harsh response to his views.

“These MAGA tech bros who call themselves “free speech absolutists” and weirdos who say that they’re not responsible for moderating content on their website are really upset. France took action against the founder of Telegram because he ran a platform that made all kinds of illegal activities possible, including child pornography. He then said that he supported filtering and repression crackdowns across Europe. The EU has become stricter about following rules about material on social media sites. Enforcement is only going to get stricter.”
