A WSJ poll found that a supermajority of voters don’t like the U.S. economy and don’t like how President Biden is handling it. The poll was called “a stark warning to Biden ahead of the 2024 contest.”

63 percent of Americans who are registered to vote say the health of the economy is “not so good” or “poor.” Only 32% say the economy is doing “good” and only 5% say it is “excellent.”

President Biden has been trying to get Americans to think more highly of his work on economic matters by saying that good things are happening because of “Bidenomics.” The way people feel about the economy has changed a little bit this year. In December, 67 percent of people thought the economy was bad, and in October, as many as 72 percent thought the economy was bad. A year ago, people had a similar view of the economy as they do now.

When asked how the U.S. economy has changed in the previous two years, 58 percent say it has gotten worse. Only 28% think things have gotten better. And twelve percent report that it is about the same as it was around two years ago.

Even though the rate of inflation has gone down this year, Americans don’t like how prices are going up. Seventy-four percent of people say inflation is going in the wrong direction, while only 20% say it is going in the right way.

Fifty-four percent of people say that their personal finances have gotten worse over the past year. 38% say things have gotten better for them. 53% say that the number of products and things available has gone in the wrong way.

Fifty-nine percent of people say they don’t like how Biden is handling the economy. This number hasn’t changed much since March and April, when the Wall Street Journal asked the same question. 48% say they “strongly” disagree with how Biden is handling the business.

Sixty percent say they don’t like how Biden deals with inflation and rising prices, and 51 percent say they strongly don’t like it.

Biden says that his programs help the economy grow “from the bottom up and the middle out,” but most Americans don’t agree. 58% of people say they don’t like how Biden is handling the problem of growing the middle class, and 47% of those people are wrong to say that. Only 36% of people agree with how Biden has handled the situation.

Biden is also in trouble when it comes to Medicare and Social Security. 47 percent of people say they don’t like how he handles these welfare programs, while 39 percent say they do.
